Burlington’s Amanda Pavone improves pro boxing record to 4-0 – Sports – Burlington Union

After a little more than a year away from the ring, Amanda Pavone of Burlington returned with a third-round stoppage victory over Sarah Click of Framingham on Saturday, March 17 at the House of Blues in Boston.

Pavone improved to 4-0 with two knockouts after referee Gene Del Bianco did not let Click out of her corner for the fourth and final round of the featherweight bout, acting on advice of the ringside physician.

There were no knockdowns but Pavone was in control for the entire fight, landing several solid left hooks and uppercuts throughout the fight. Click was bleeding from her mouth by the second round.

Click was making her pro boxing debut. She is a veteran of three professional mixed martial arts bouts.

Pavone, a former national amateur champion, last fought on Dec. 19, 2016, when she scored a stoppage victory over Roccio De Leon in the Dominican Republic. Pavone turned pro on July 30, 2016 with a decision victory against Kaline Medeiros in Plymouth. She also won a decision against Unique Harris on Oct.15, 2016 in Melrose.

Pavone’s fight was part of Murphy’s Boxing’s annual St. Patrick’s Day show. In the main event, Danny O’Connor of Framingham retained his World Boxing Council Silver International super lightweight title with a 10-round unanimous decision against Steve Claggett of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
