18:34 hrs IST: Good news from Colombo. The square cover has been removed. Toss could happen anytime soon.

18:24 hrs IST: Some of the covers are being peeled off but the square is still covered.

18:20 hrs IST: In other news, Jonny Bairstow hit another century as England wrapped up the one-day international series by strolling to a comprehensive seven-wicket win over New Zealand on Saturday.

Bairstow scored 138 runs on Wednesday but that ton was in vain after New Zealand forced a fifth and deciding ODI midweek.

18:12 hrs IST: Meanwhile, South Africa seamer Kagiso Rabada risks missing the remainder of the series against Australia after being charged with a Level Two offence by the ICC following the shoulder contact he made with rival captain Steve Smith.

Rabada trapped Smith leg before wicket on the opening day of the second test at St George’s Park on Friday and appeared to brush against the batsman in his celebration as the Australian walked down the pitch.

The hearing will be heard by match referee Jeff Crowe on Saturday evening, with Rabada set to contest the charge.

18:08 hrs IST: The square has been covered up. Looks like the start might be delayed.

18:04 hrs IST: Not a good news from Colombo. Covers are coming on. There’s a bit of a drizzle. Stay tuned for live updates!

17:56 hrs IST: Sri Lanka fast bowling coach Rumesh Ratnayake said that the team has to adjust smartly if it has to sustain its winning momentum. “It’s about playing smart — according to the situation — if there needs to be change in the strike and going to the other side that’s what we have to do,” Ratnayake said.

In addition to that, Sri Lanka would be hoping there is more contribution from bowlers as well as the batsmen. Dushmantha Chameera impressed but was taken apart in the death overs against India, while the rest of the bowlers failed to contain the runs.

17:51 hrs IST: Hello and welcome to HT’s live coverage of the Nidahas Trophy match between hosts Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, are under the pump after a string of losses. The batsmen have not been able to rotate the strike enough in the middle overs, stopping them from putting up competitive scores.

The absence of star player and captain Shakib Al Hasan is a setback.

The 2018 Nidahas Trophy is a tri-nation series between Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. Each team will play each other twice, with two teams progressing to the final.
