IOC provisionally lifts suspension of Russian Olympic Committee

The IOC provisionally lifts it’s suspension of Russian Olympic Committee that has been in place since Feb 2022 and was further strengthened in March 2023 – due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
What this means? Russia could compete at the next Olympics / LA2028 – BUT a long way to go before Russia can compete under Russian flag (eg a full Russian Olympic squad of athletes competing under the Russian flag/colours/logos/anthem etc.)
It is though a significant move towards the reintroduction of Russia into international sport.
Russian Athletes have though been competing at major international events such as Paris 2024 and Milano-Cortina 2026 as ‘Neutral’ athletes.
